Today my colleagues from Rookery Bay and I held our first
Florida Master Naturalist Program class of 2011. We are teaching the coastal module, which of course as a marine science extension agent, is my personal favorite! We have a very energetic and engaged group; I'm looking forward to getting to know them over the next two weeks. The first day is always the hardest as its mostly classroom work, but this group hung in like real champs! We did start the day off with a tour of Rookery Bay's Environmental Learning Center so they could get a better perspective of where they were and the importance of the Reserve to SW Florida. Enjoy some of today's pictures, and stay tuned for more posts as we progress with the course!
